Account and Data Deletion Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026 | Last updated: July 22, 2026

This policy explains how Arteesa processes account deletion and associated data deletion requests. It is designed to satisfy platform requirements for both in-app and web-based deletion pathways.

1. Ways to Request Deletion

  • In-app: Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  • Artisan web portal: account support for service-provider accounts.
  • Web: the Delete Account Request page (for users who do not have app access).
  • Email: hello@arteesa.app.

2. What Is Deleted

  • Active login credentials and account access tokens.
  • Profile data not legally required to be retained.
  • Non-essential content linked to the account, subject to legal and safety constraints.

3. What May Be Retained

Some data may be retained for legal, regulatory, security, anti-fraud, tax, accounting, and dispute-defense reasons, including:

  • Financial transaction ledgers and payout/audit records.
  • Artisan verification records, proof of residential address, face verification, guarantor details, and admin review history where needed for trust and safety.
  • Service request media, completion media, messages, reports, and dispute evidence where needed for active or reasonably anticipated disputes.
  • Chargeback, fraud, abuse, and security investigation records.
  • Records required by lawful orders, statutory retention obligations, or active legal claims.

4. Deletion Timeline

  • Request acknowledgment target: within 72 hours.
  • Identity verification target: within 7 business days where additional checks are required.
  • Deletion completion target: within 30 days after validation, unless legal retention applies.

5. Identity Verification

To prevent unauthorized deletion, Arteesa may request identity verification (for example OTP, account email/phone confirmation, or transaction confirmation details).

6. Partial vs Full Deletion

  • Full account deletion: Closes account and removes or anonymizes eligible personal data.
  • Data-only request: Specific categories may be deleted or restricted where legally available.

7. Linked and Public Content

Where content is embedded in transactional history (for example booking records needed for legal integrity), artefacts may be retained in minimized or pseudonymized form. Public or counterparty-visible content may also remain where removal would impair another user's legitimate records, dispute history, or safety evidence.

8. Consequences of Deletion

  • You may lose access to historical bookings, messages, wallet history, and service preferences.
  • Some deleted data cannot be recovered.

9. Contact

For deletion status or escalation, contact hello@arteesa.app with subject "Account Deletion Request".
